This can be done through a call or SMS to check if the number is working or not. Your phone number must not be associated with a WhatsApp Business Mobile App or a WhatsApp Business Account hosted by another business service provider at the time of integration.
In case your business has an active WhatsApp account on a mobile device and you would like to use the same number for WhatsApp API, you need to delete the WhatsApp account for that number to connect with the WhatsApp API.
Open WhatsApp.
Tap (three dots) > Settings > Account > Delete My Account.
Enter your phone number in the and tap DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
Choose a reason for deleting your account from the dropdown menu.
Tap DELETE MY ACCOUNT to complete the process.
If you wish to retain the Business WhatsApp Number, you have to activate a New Phone Number for WhatsApp API.
This is recommended to ensure that you can use your existing Facebook Business Account for your business. If you do not have a Facebook Business Account, you can sign up for one while connecting your number.
